Baseball

(to the tune of Take me out to the ball game)

Keep us in for a ball game
Keep us away from the crowd
We ate some peanuts and cracker jacks
We don't care if we ever get back
For it's root root root for a color
cause we don't care who wins
For........we.......are........patiently waiting for a real ball game. (Longhorn Football!!!!)

Well, we didn't make it to the Round Rock game here last week so we decided to have our own. We didn't care who was playing we just wanted to give the boys a baseball game experience the best we could. We didn't finish watching the game but I think the boys had a good time.

Old to New

Before Paul and I got married we purchased a living room set and here's the coffee table that came with it. We weren't too fond of the stain over time and I just couldn't get rid of this table! It's part of a set plus 3 of our 4 boys have learned to pull up at it, learned to walk around it, made their own dents and dings from toys and it's perfect for the boys to eat at during our Friday night pizza and movie. So after many years and much thought we decided to give it a make-over. The paint is deep space and the stain is English Chestnut.

Summer Bash 2010

The base was throwing a Summer Bash loaded with local sponsers, bouncy gyms, rock climbing, muscle cars, music and food for the military and working contractors. The first thing we did was check out these hot muscle cars. Every once in awhile Paul and I talk about how cool it'd be to own a classic vehicle. We never can make up our mind on what we'd want.

These two were my favorite!!!

Table and Chairs

After a long decision on what kind of table to buy, we decided on this farm house table and chairs from an antique store. Originally we were looking at buying a custom made table and chairs from an Amish store but the price was way too much for what we were wanting to get. Over $5,000 too much. Granted it would be our forever table and chair set and we'd make our own memories and dents but it was just too much right now.
We decided on this table b/c it was long, simple and affordable. All together it cost less than $600! We're gonna leave it all in it's current condition to get the feel of it. Eventually we'll strip the chairs of the sky blue and put a clear finish on. The table top I think we'll strip and put a clear finish on but leave the legs the way they are. We're not sure yet but we'll keep you posted.

4th of July we took a trip to Blue Spruce RV Park. We were meeting the entire side of the Frisingers for a weeks vacation. We got a cabin and boy was it small. I queen size bed, a futon pulled out to be a bed, a table that sits 2, range, a sink the size of your head, hotel fridge and a small bathroom. With this herd it was a tight fit. Nevertheless it was enough so we could rest our heads at night.
Sunday we had a small devo, lunch, did a little hiking and then the evening festivities included the traditional hot dogs, baked beans and fireworks. May I inform you that the evenings in Colorado during the summer do get chilly. Before the fireworks started the wind picked up and it got COLD! All in all the fireworks were great, the kids enjoyed them except Ray was ready to go to sleep.
Monday we took a trip to see the Mesa Verde Cliff Dwellings. Well, lets just say we didn't have an accurate idea of how long this trip would take from beginning to end. 2 hours just to get to the dwellings and then another 2 hours back!!! I wasn't much of a patient mama that day. We did stop to get ice cream in hopes that the kids wouldn't ask why they couldn't go closer to where the Indians lived.
Tuesday was horse back riding. You had to be 6 years old to be able to ride. We figured Wes was old enough to ride, even though he's 5. There was no way we could explain to him why he couldn't ride. He did very well and looks absolutely adorable on his horse KK. Grant was full of questions and kept pretending he was a rodeo star waving his hand in the air. OH! and boy was it a dusty ride. No wonder the cowboys wore handkerchiefs........so they wouldn't chew dirt!
Wednesday was soooo awesome!!! Poppy and NayNay we so kind to watch the younger two all day while Paul and I took the older two ATV'ing and Rafting. I was so worried about the rafting but it was a piece of cake. ATV'ing?? Well, lets just say were researching how much they cost b/c they are so AWESOME!!!
We had a great trip to Colorado and can't wait to go back. In fact there's a 4 day weekend coming up and we just might go back to Colorado for some R&R.

First timer

Ok, I've seen several peoples blogs and have wondered if I should create one myself. Being the worry wart that I am I'm always concerned about what other people might think about my pictures, what I say and how I say things and on and on. Well, I was printing up school work and figured I'd give this a try. We'll see how long I can keep up with this. If I say something that offends you I'm sorry. If I have a typo, well, you'll have to get over that b/c I'm human. If you get a chuckle or a laugh then that makes me happy. Wish me luck as I embark on this fun and exciting program. Later!
